After the unexpected success of the series, I decided to reach an even wider audience by presenting Handbag House Live. Side 11 - You'll Never See Me Again...


After a bit of a dry spell, a handful of massive hits suddenly appear out of nowhere - and of course, go straight into Side 11. There wasn't any room for the usual "classic/forgotten anthem" track this time around, just brand new future classics with exceptional dance remixes.

Side 10 - I Keep Bleeding, Keep, Keep Bleeding Love


Sometimes mixing Handbag House is quite a task. If there's not enough new material, or if the tracks don't seem to gel very well together, it can lead to me agonising over them for weeks. Other times, everything just slots into place magically. This was one of those times. It allowed me to a be a bit more creative with the mixing, and out of the lot so far Side 10 was definitely received the most enthusiastically. I partly put that down to the fact I'd put a dance beat behind Leona's Bleeding Love, and it worked. While it was number one in the charts, everyone was itching to hear it - forgetting how slow it was. Yes, everyone would be mimicking the warbling, but it kinda killed the momentum of the dancefloor. A simple beat behind it for this mix proved to be more popular than I expected. It caught on like wildfire and within months it was, and still is, echoing throughout the UK's club scene!

Side 9 - Now That We've Got It, Get On The Dancefloor


With a temporary departure from the usual bubblegum dance style and heading for a more electro/house direction (whilst still maintaining the commercial theme), Side 9 became affectionately known as the "straight mix". The Timbaland and Alice Deejay bootleg created quite a stir as it was fairly exclusive when the mix was made available.

Side 8 - Ella, Ella, Ella, Ay, Ay, Ay...


Not that there was anything particularly special about the mixing (except for that 'Rihanna into Dance Nation moment'), this was coined at the time to be the best of the mixes so far - until Side 10 came along. This is when pop was at one of it's most anthemic stages.

This was the last of the series to be recorded in .wma format - as obviously .mp3 made much more sense. I do plan to convert all of the mixes to this format but I've posted this just to get the ball rolling anyway.
